Phew! Can you believe I’m almost 30?
I know right. Thank you *wink*
I remember meeting one of the Lagos state governorship aspirants in the last gubernatorial election at an event that was organized by his team to galvanize youths for his cause. My friends and I were introduced to him by another friend who had invited us to the gathering. I was lobbying to be on his media team, you know. (This my hustle waka in Lagos ehn, you have no idea… LOL)
Anyway, after the introduction and making my intent known, the man looked from my friend to me, wondering if I wasn’t too young for the job. He must have asked if I was done with school and what I was doing at the time. I can’t recall, but I know something he said led to me telling him I was into acting.
He seemed impressed. “Nice.” He said, “But that would mean teenage or undergraduate roles, right?”
Confused, I looked at my friends then him, and asked, “Why is that, Sir?”
He chuckled and placed his hand on my shoulder, “Are you not 17?”
Seeing my expression, he smiled and said, “Okay, you can’t possibly be more than…” this was him pausing to resize me, “…yes, 19, at most. And you can’t tell me otherwise.” He concluded.
I pursed my lips so I won’t laugh in his face. My friends were also trying their best not to burst into laughter because the truth was, I was older than everyone there, save two. There was no point telling the Governorship hopeful he was abso-freaking-ly wrong. Of course, we had a good laugh about it afterwards.
Yup, I get that all the time. Really, only once have I had someone guess my age right.
And I LOVE IT!
Howbeit, my friends never pass on the opportunity to tease me about my childlike behaviours, baby look and small stature, (Sugar K, Uncle Bolu, Gail, etc.), I am 100% grateful for this ‘blessing.’
Anyway, I digress.
Yes! I look small, act like a child, pout and whine when asking for things, scream like a baby, dance like a toddler,and giggle like a teenage girl in love; there is no denying the fact that I’ve been here for almost three frigging decades.
This is why I thought it would be an excellent idea to make my 30 before 30 bucket list and share with my dearest #Galaxy.
Going by my favourite quote,

Yes, people, this is my mantra. Having a vision and clear values sets you on a mission, and it fuels your choices. So, here goes my list of 30 things I’m wishing, hoping, praying and working on to accomplish before I hit the big XXX.
1.. To make Forbes 30 under 30 list.
2. To have published my first book.
3. To have become a household name and no longer need an introduction.
4. Feature in at least five blockbuster Nollywood films.
5. Start and finish film school.
6. Produce two short films.
7. Produce a TV series (I’ve had the story for a while now).
8. Resume YouTubing. I miss that a lot.
9. Get a tattoo. Or two.
10. Learn French.
11. Finally kick off 25th Foundation (This is my primary purpose in life)
12. Meet Don Jazzy (I’ve got a couple of questions for that man).
13. To be happily married to the LOML (Can I get an Amen?)
14. To be shtupping on a steady (this is why I need an amen in 13 above).
15. Visit a strip club with my hubby.
16. To have a successfully running podcast with my friends. Hi, Teady! Hi, Brown!
17. Get my dentition perfected. Yo people, we must be prepared for the glitz and glamour that comes with this celebrity lifestyle.
18. Start my business.
19. Visit five new African countries (I look forward to visiting Kenya).
20. Have at least two photoshoots. Can you believe I’ve never had a single photo session in all my almost-30-gorgeous years?
21. To have at least two awards under my belt. Amen!
22. To have two mentees.
23. Own a property.
24. Have a minimum of 7-digit account.
25. Repay all the money I owe my mum with interest.
26. Visit five tourist attractions I’ve never been to in Nigeria. (The Ancient Nok Settlement, Obudu Mountain Resort nee Obudu cattle ranch, etc.)
27. Grow Gelax Chatroom into a big brand (and, maybe have a franchise)
28. Skydive or bungee jump.
29. Observe 30 random acts of kindness.
30. Get a pet.
As I compiled this list with a pencil in my notepad, I kept asking myself, “Bee, hope you know 30 is almost here?” I would go over the list and ask again if I was sure about a particular item. The answer is yes, I am! I want so much more, but I’ve decided to push them to my 35th birthday; like adopting a child, for instance.
But the heck, why should I let my list of goals scare me when the 24th President of Liberia has this to say to me and you:
“The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”

By the way, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the first elected female president in Africa. She held the position for 12 years (2006 – 2018). She also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011.
Tell me again, who am I not to aim for these things?

It doesn’t have to be a 30 before 30 list, it could be a random bucket list or something on my list you would like to have/experience.
Lol. Reminds me of the 25 before 25 list that I made. Feels like a lifetime ago and I don’t even remember anything on that list. I’m not a huge fan of lists cos I’d most likely not do shi shi about it but this 30 before 30 wont be a bad idea.
But first, let’s wait and see if we all survive April the 12th. 😂😂😂

Whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve. I remember Plato’s concept of the worlds of idea and how the duality of idea creates what we know as reality.
What I am trying to say is that the mind is so powerful that it can reify whatever ideas we conceive. Nothing is to big or massive to dream of or wish for oneself.
Like you said, having a mental notification helps a lot and has helped me thus far in achieving my dreams. My wishes before 30 are not much and I am reminded by your post to start working on them.

I’ve not imagined so much in a while but this is a wake up call.
One of the things that will definitely go into my 30 before 30 bucket list is “writing 2 books that becomes New York Times Bestsellers.”

Mehn reading through your list scares me as if it’s mine… That is a lot based on the milleu [environment] we have here although it is achievable with God grace[a vital something]… Well for me two out of my list is 1. To be a professional footballer… 2. To create a platform which gives room or opportunity to talents of anykind to grow and be heard…

Great Dreams. How I wish I can draw mine but 30 is in few months time Maybe we can do a 35. You chose the Glitz and Showbiz path which is fine but ensure to keep your social conscience in check because you have a big heart.
A list for 35 would be great. I’m not sure I’ll be doing a ’35 before 35′ though😅 maybe 10 items or even 5.

The one I have a problem with so to speak is the one you should do first, one step in the direction of getting 30 in the bag. A tattoo, don’t know why you would want to stain your body with ink, me I want my skin to be fresher not get it stained. Don’t say I haven’t encouraged you to get started.
