It’s My Freaking Birthday! – You Asked, I Answered.

Stars, it’s my friggin’ birthday!!! 🎉

I’m very happy and it’s not just because it’s my birthday, but the fact that this year feels completely different. As I mentioned in this post, this is the first birthday in yearssss that my new age does not make me feel down about haven’t accomplishing most of my goals.

This happens mostly because I am very ambitious. Gosh! You don’t even know the half of it! And the downside of that is that, sometimes, I go too hard on myself, especially around the end of a birth or calendar year.

Howbeit, this year just feels like MY YEAR and I don’t even know how to explain it to y’all.

Oh, my Stars! Thank you all so much for the outpour of love. I wish I could hug every single person and plant wet kisses all over faces.

Thanks for the amazing questions you asked, and let me just state for the record that I’m glad this year’s questions didn’t revolve around my non-existent sexual life and marital status. I’m truly proud of y’all for making the questions deep yet fun! Without further delay, here are my answers to all your questions.

1. Sihlobo Bulala

Hie, since when did you become interested in locking your hair, and how old are they? They really suit you 😍

Gelax: Thanks, my darling. I can’t recall when exactly I fell in love with dreads but my very stubborn 4C hair (Well, I hope to find the solution to that for the rest of the natural hair community), even though long, think & beautiful, always made salon times my least favourite times. It just never responded to hair treatments.

Then, people started asked if my braids/twists were locks so I thought, hmmm… Why not?!

PS: I don’t think that’s the full story but yeah… 🤭

2. Louisa

What is your biggest goal in life?

Gelax: My biggest goal in life is to be a Star maker. I literally want to build a galaxy of Stars.

And to always be happy.

Gelax: Thank you!!!🥰

Hmmm… I was supposed to hangout with a couple of friends today but we had to reschedule. However, I’ll be hooking up with a friend later in the day to celebrate.
Definitely treating myself to some super yummy spaghetti and lemonade. Maybe icecream too. LOL

Do you have a big circle of friends or just a few close ones?

Gelax: I like that you asked this question because people usually just assume that with my personality I have lots of friends. On the contrary, I keep my circle really small. I’m very protective of my energy, which I expend a lot of, hence, my intentionality with those in my inner circle.

That said, I do not take my friends (inner & outer circle) for granted. Never!

4. Advocate of unpopular opinions

Hi Miss Flowery!

Have you ever considered to be uprooted and flowered somewhere else outside the naija world! I mean either marry a Zimbabwean or Zimbabwean if you ever thought of this silly institution.

Gelax: Holla, Brainy! I’m a flower, all right but I doubt if I can be plucked. LOL

To answer your question though; Even as Naija bad reach, I do not have the intention of relocating to another country. BUT I’d love to visit Zimbabwe soon as the love I get from that country is massive (only Uganda comes close).

Marrying a Zimbabwean is a possibility, of course! And that would automatically make me a Zimbabwean, wouldn’t it? 😉

Gelax: Little wonder I’m a happy child, huh!
Truly truly, I am God’s favourite! I wish I could fully explain to you how blessed I feel knowing that God loves me and has great plans for me.

Oh, how unworthy I am of such love yet, I feel 100% entitled to it. Crazy stuff, yeah?🤩

What is that special thing?

Gelax: Yes, I am human. Yes, I do run out of energy. What keeps me going is the full assurance that the sufferings of my present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory which shall be revealed in me.

Simply put; I keep the big picture in mind and hold on to God’s promise for my life. And that has never failed to boost my mood. It works all the time!

My special thing is the love. I live for love.

Gelax: Isn’t it interesting that I coloured my locked back to black exactly a week after you asked this question 😂.

Gelax: Shelly!!!!!!!! I don’t know why everything about you just makes me smile. Like I legit smile whenever I get your post notifications in my email or see your name, picture and comments. Hmmm… wait, isn’t that what love is? 🤔

Now, to answer your questions;

– No, I am very farrrr from where I want to be by 30 but I have this weird assurance that I will get there and surpass those goals in the next 365 days.

– And 85% of the goals in my 30 before 30 bucket list make me believe I’m nuts. No kidding.😅

Gelax: Sylvia, my baby! On this day 29 years ago, the world was blessed with one of the greatest gift ever, ME!

• Your favorite person in the world?!

Gelax: Would it be narcissist to say me?😂 Yeah, for now, I’m my favourite person in the world. However, my Stars are fast securing hectares of land in my heart and I absolutely do not mind.♥️✨

• How did you find Afrobloggers?

Gelax: Ah, the Baba Isale, Musanjufu Benjamin Kavubu, found me and through him, I found the Afrobloggers community.

• Has having a bubbly spirit ever backfired?

Gelax: Hmmm… This is a very interesting question. I may have been taken advantage of, disrespected and what not a couple of times because of my bubbly personality, but, I don’t think it has ever backfired. Can’t remember any instance.

• What do you want to do for the rest of your life?

Gelax: Wow! Where did you dig out these questions from, Sylvia? 😅 They are so thought-provoking. Love eeet!

By God’s grace, I’d love to spend the rest of my life giving love, receiving love, eating and eating some more. But most importantly, I want to be a mother to many nations and a Star maker till my very last breathe.

Gelax: The overwhelming reckless love of God.
And my heart. Oh, how I cherish my heart. You know what, I can’t wait for the whole world to know that my heart is not only my most precious gift, but theirs as well.

Gelax: Winfred, I currently do a poor job at taking care of myself. Getting a pet right now would only make me a bad pet-mum and I don’t want my baby hating me 🙈.

Gelax: It’s more of my default setting. I honestly do not know how to be anything else but happy.

My source of happiness is happiness. The conscious effort in seeking happiness even in the most mundane things and the intentionality in enjoying every moment are definitely my top sources of happiness.

How do you define success in your world?

Gelax: To me, success is achieving your set goal and/or finding fulfillment in your achievements (hitting those goals or not).

Color blue or pink?

Gelax: Hmm… why don’t we miss the two colours together. That would give us… purple, right? Ah, isn’t coincidental that purple 💜 is one of my favourite colours?! *wink*

Hi Bolaji! I’m so excited to be here but this is my question.

If you’re given a chance to visit any African country, what would it be and why would you visit it?

Gelax: For the longest time, I’ve always wanted to visit Kenya. I can’t even remember why anymore 😅.

But most recently, Uganda is my dream African country to visit. I have way too many Stars from Uganda and it would be a dream come true to be able to hangout with them, take pictures, make memories, record funny videos that I’d keep forever (thank God for Cloud) and hug as many people as I can.
